29 June 2019 - Japanese Gardens in Cowra

Winter in the Japanese Gardens in Cowra.  Elder and Sister Adams joined us this weekend.  We walked around the Gardens.  Like the Gardens of Thanksgiving Point, there is something to see in every season.  The premier season for the Japanese Garden is the spring - September - the Cherry Blossoms adorn the Garden.
I am still trying to wrap my brain around spring flowers and September!  No worries, I am looking forward to Spring Flowers.

25 June 2019 Rainbows over Sydney Harbour and Manly

Another day of adventures in the rain. After I finished the training I am doing at all the zone conferences today we decided to head to Manly. Another day of adventures in the rain! It was a lovely day.  We found a lovely little cafe on the beach - with a roof over our head and the best fish and chips yet!

25 June 2019 - Zone Conference - Villawood Australia

I love the association we have with the Junior Missionaries.  They are truly the light of the world.  This cute sister is special.  We arrived in the mission just 2 days before I met her for the first time.  She taught me some things about the culture of Australia - she was inspired to tell me the things she did.  It was so helpful to me.  I am grateful for her kind ministering spirit.
While teaching the healthy eating training at the first series of Zone Conferences, I was blessed to see her again.

24 June 2019 - Winter in the Blue Mountains - Walls Lookout

Crazy people go hiking in the rain and fog. It was worth the effort! I remember the Ireland hikes with Lacy! Our umbrellas were constantly being blown inside out in the wind and breaking.   Ah,this time we out smarted the wind.  We  had a real brolly ( Aussie speak for umbrella). It didn't blow inside out! #hikingthebluemountains. Walls Lookout.  When we arrived at the Lookout it was fogged in - it looked so amazing even in the fog.  This is one hike we want to take again!  Winter, please go away so we can see this sight and hike further on the trail!

24 June 2019 - Carcoar Dam -

Carcoar Dam
When traveling with Ron - Dams and Reservoirs are always on the bucket list.  We passed  the sign for Carcoar Dam many times as we traveled the Sydney road between Cowra and Bathurst and everytime he commented " I want to stop and see the Dam some time, but not today we do not have time".  The day finally came and here is Carcoar Dam.  It is winter.

19 June 2019 - On the way to Sydney - over the Blue Mountains

Once again we travel to Sydney. Tonight we will attend the Sydney Temple and tomorrow morning I begin the Zone Conference trainings on Healthy Eating for the missionaries.  I have a wonderful book to use that was developed specifically for the Pacific Area of the Church.  It is a Self-Reliance program for the Pacific Area.  I will be using bits and pieces to teach the missionaries in 2 series of Zone Conferences.

15 June 2019, Cowra Community Market

This month we were inside the Showground Pavilion!  It was still very cold!  Still having a difficult time wrapping our brains around cold weather in June.
Despite the cold, it was a successful market.  I was able to help one person find an ancestor he has been searching for.  Cowra Family History Group is active in Cowra and most people that stop by the shop or booth have heaps of family research already done.  We showed the community how Family Search provides a way to preserve pictures, documents and voice recordings in a digital format free of charge.  Many people were interested and wanted to share what they have with others.

South Lawson Park - Waterfall Loop Walk

The next day on the way home we stopped for a walk about in the Blue Mountains.  Lovely little walk – Rain forest with 4 waterfalls.  You know for Grandpa Ron – water is always our destination.  Thank goodness it was a loop or Grandma Elise would always have to travel around the next bend!

Where  do you expect to meet long time Friends?
